Northumberland has an extensive network of bus services to take the
stress out of driving. No directions to figure out, alternate
routes when you get lost or parking problems. Just jump on a
Monday to Saturday there are nearly 300 buses a day that
stop at or leave from Morpeth Bus Station. Some of these
buses go to the coast, others as far as London and Edinburgh and
lots of them (over 50 a day) go to the Centre of Newcastle Upon

Mobile - Once you've registered for

On the bus - Buy single, return and

Concessionary travel on local
Eligible older people,and those of any age with a disability,
and resident in England, can obtain a bus pass to enjoy free
off-peak local bus travel anywhere in England. In
Northumberland the scheme is operated by Northumberland County
Eligible older people means:
- Anyone born before 6th April 1950 (men and women).
- If you are a woman born after 5th April 1950 you become
eligible when you reach retirement age.
- If you are a man born after 5th April 1950, you become eligible
when you reach the pensionable age of a woman born on the same

If you are unable to travel alone, you can apply for
a Companion Pass. This enables a friend, relation or
carer of your choice to travel with you. You will need
certification to show you are unable to travel alone.
If you have lost your concessionary bus pass, you can apply
a replacement from where you obtained the original pass. The
charge for a
replacement pass is £15.
